Brindley Beach Vacations and Sales is a local Outer Banks vacation rental and real estate company managing homes from the 4×4 beach north of Corolla down to Hatteras Island. Their 4×4 portfolio is concentrated in the Carova Beach area, with both oceanfront and canalfront homes. Brindley publishes one of the most comprehensive operational guides for 4×4 guests of any management company on the Outer Banks.
Brindley’s 4×4 Inventory
Brindley categorizes their 4×4 beach rentals using a “4x” property code prefix, so listings like 4×2275 (Over at Carova), 4×2064 (Happy Hours), 4×1662 (Dolphin Watch), 4×512 (No Bad Days), and 4×504 (Sol Searcher) are all 4×4-only homes north of the Corolla pavement. Sizes range from compact three- and four-bedroom canalfront cottages up to large oceanfront houses suitable for multi-family groups.
You can browse Brindley’s 4×4 inventory directly on their 4×4 Beaches guide page or the oceanfront 4×4 section.
Beach Parking Passes — Two Included, $50 Cash Deposit
Brindley’s parking pass program is one of the more clearly documented. Two 4×4 parking passes are included with each 4×4 vacation home with a $50 cash deposit per home, refunded when the passes are returned. Passes are picked up at the Corolla office during business hours.
The parking pass requirement runs from the last Saturday in April through the first Saturday in October. As Brindley puts it directly: you do not need a pass to drive on the beach or park at the home — only to park on the beach itself. If your group needs more than two passes, additional permits can be purchased through Currituck County (limited supply, $50 each, picked up at the Corolla Visitor Center).
Operational Details Brindley Documents
The Brindley 4×4 guide is thorough on the small details that trip up first-timers:
- Air-up station — Free air-up after your beach drive at Historic Corolla Park, 1100 Hunt Club Drive, Corolla. Enter the parking lot and veer right; signs point to four free tire air-up stations.
- Trash and recycling center — Located at 2030 Ocean Pearl Road in North Swan Beach, just past mile marker 20.
- Carova Beach Park — Located at MP21 with a pavilion, picnic tables, park grills, a boat ramp, volleyball, bathrooms, and a children’s playset.
- Sunset rule — Items left on the beach or under/on walkways after sunset are subject to confiscation. Take all beach gear back to your rental each night.
