Before you book — the short version
Everything you need to decide is on this page. Here it is in six lines:
- Who can rent: the primary driver is 25 or older with a valid license and full-coverage personal auto insurance that extends to rentals. After you book, text or email us proof of that insurance — we hold your dates while we wait.
- What it costs: $1,338 flat for a full week, any vehicle in the fleet. $202.50 a day for 3–6 days, $225 a day for 2 days, $325 for a single day. A refundable security deposit is held on every rental — $300 on multi-day, $200 on one-day — and released 3–7 business days after return.
- One-day rentals: not bookable online. Use the one-day request form; requests open two days before pickup. One-day rentals are non-refundable, rain or shine.
- What’s included: the Currituck County (Corolla / Carova) beach permit and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore ORV permit, a portable air compressor, tire pressure gauge, jack and jack board, shovel and tow strap. Free parking for your own car while you’re out. Dogs ride free.
- Pickup: 2101 Colington Road, Kill Devil Hills — we share a driveway with U-Haul. 7 AM to 8 PM, seven days a week.
- Cancellations: full refund minus a $25 processing fee if you cancel more than 72 hours before pickup; a $225 fee inside 72 hours. Dangerous weather (severe storms, hurricanes) is refunded in full on multi-day rentals.

How to Reserve Your 4x4
Here’s how it works:
- Step 1: Fill out our online booking form (or for a one-day rental within 2 days, use the one-day form).
- Step 2: After you submit the form, text or email us proof of full-coverage personal auto insurance to bret@beach4x4.com or (252) 564-4218. This is required to secure your reservation — your dates are held while we wait.
- Step 3: Receive your booking confirmation with pickup details.
- Step 4: Pick up your fully-equipped Jeep at 2101 Colington Road, Kill Devil Hills (7 AM – 8 PM, 7 days a week).
- Step 5: Hit the beach!

We require proof of full-coverage personal auto insurance that extends to rental vehicles. We verify coverage before pickup, so check with your insurance agent before booking.
Cancellation Policy
If you cancel more than 72 hours before pickup, you receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. Cancellations within 72 hours of pickup incur a $225 cancellation fee. For dangerous weather (severe storms, hurricanes, etc.), we issue full refunds on multi-day rentals — contact us as soon as possible. One-day rentals are non-refundable, rain or shine, no exceptions.

We accept credit cards and debit cards. A $300 refundable security deposit applies to all multi-day rentals (credit or debit) and is released 3–7 business days after vehicle return. One-day rentals have a $200 refundable security deposit.
