Village Realty OBX is one of the larger Outer Banks vacation rental companies, with over 900 rental properties across Nags Head, Corolla, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Duck, Manteo, Hatteras Island, and Southern Shores. Their footprint on the 4×4 beach north of Corolla is smaller than the dedicated 4×4 specialists like Twiddy or Beach Realty, but they do have a handful of true 4×4-only homes that you’ll want to know how to identify if you’ve booked through them.
Village Realty’s 4×4 Inventory
Village Realty uses a “CAR” prefix for their Carova Beach properties. If your booking confirmation shows a property code like CAR03, you’re booked into a true 4×4-only home and you’ll need a 4WD vehicle to reach it. The CAR03 property, listed simply as “The Beach House,” is described by Village Realty as “situated on the breathtaking 4×4 northern beach of the Outer Banks.”
Other Village Realty listings (with prefixes like VOH, OSH, M, OSI) reference the 4×4 beach as nearby — for example, VOH28 (Lighthouse View) notes the home is in Corolla with the 4×4 beach access “just a quarter mile away.” If you’re not sure whether your specific Village Realty home requires a 4WD vehicle to reach, check the property description for phrases like “4×4 only,” “accessible by 4-wheel drive,” or call Village Realty’s reservations line before your arrival.
Booking and Contact
Village Realty’s reservations line is 800-441-8533. They operate offices in Nags Head, Corolla (252-453-9650), and Waves. The Corolla office is the closest physical location to the 4×4 beach if you need in-person assistance.
Village Realty’s online booking is direct — every home in their inventory is bookable online, and they tout keyless entry and free Wi-Fi as standard amenities across their portfolio. For 4×4 area homes, the company’s general 4×4 guidance follows the same rules every other Outer Banks 4×4 manager publishes: a 4WD vehicle is required, AWD is not acceptable, air down at the ramp.
How Beach4x4 Pairs with a Village Realty Stay
If you’ve booked a Village Realty home and the property description references the 4×4 beach, you need a 4WD vehicle to reach it. Beach4x4 specializes in week-long 4×4 rentals built specifically for Outer Banks beach driving. Our weekly rate is $1,338 for any vehicle — Jeep Wranglers, Jeep Gladiators (both seat 5), or Nissan Armadas (seat 8). Both Currituck and Cape Hatteras ORV permits are included, so you can drive any beach on the Outer Banks during your stay.
Pickup is at 2101 Colington Road in Kill Devil Hills, 7 days a week, 7am to 8pm. Pet-friendly with no pet fees. If you’re a first-time beach driver, we walk you through airing down before you leave the lot.
