Please read it all, then check the box and sign below. This agreement takes effect when Beach4x4 confirms your reservation; the vehicle is the one named in your confirmation.

1. This is a same-day rental. A one-day rental is not overnight. Pick up as early as 7:00 AM and the vehicle is due back at our shop by 8:00 PM the same day, with a full tank, all included gear, and your belongings and trash removed. Need it longer? Text us before 8 PM — extending is subject to availability and the multi-day rates.

2. Who may drive. Every driver must be 25 or older — that includes the Renter and any additional driver — and must hold a valid driver’s license. The Renter must carry full-coverage personal auto insurance (liability, collision and comprehensive); proof must be provided before pickup. Up to two additional drivers may be listed in the Notes. Nobody else may drive the vehicle.

3. Insurance and responsibility for damage. Your personal auto insurance is the primary coverage for this rental. Beach4x4 does not sell insurance or damage waivers. You are responsible for all damage to, loss of, or theft of the vehicle during the rental — including your insurance deductible and anything your insurer does not pay — and for any towing or recovery costs. Saltwater damage from driving in the ocean, salt wash, or standing water is never covered and is charged to you in full.

4. Rate, deposit and payment. The one-day rate is $325 plus 8% North Carolina sales tax ($351 total). A refundable security deposit of $200 is held on your card and released 3–7 business days after the vehicle is returned. We may apply the deposit toward fuel, cleaning, late return, tickets, tolls, lost keys, or damage owed under this agreement; if the amount owed is more than the deposit, you agree to pay the difference.

5. No refunds. One-day rentals are non-refundable, rain or shine, no exceptions — including early return, weather, or a change of plans.

6. Fees that can apply.

• Fuel: the vehicle goes out with a full tank and must come back full. Missing fuel is charged at $8.00 per gallon.
• Late return: $50 per hour after 8:00 PM, up to one day’s rate. Text us before 8 PM if you are running late.
• Cleaning: normal beach sand is fine. Excessive dirt (mud-caked interior, pet hair throughout, food spills, trash left behind) is charged from $250.
• Lost or damaged keys / fobs: $450 plus any delivery or towing cost.
• Tickets, tolls and fines: you are responsible for every ticket, toll, parking or traffic citation and towing charge incurred during the rental, plus a $50 administrative fee for each one we have to process.

7. Beach driving rules. The vehicle is set up for beach driving where vehicles are allowed, and both beach permits (Currituck County / Corolla–Carova and Cape Hatteras National Seashore ORV) stay with the vehicle. In return you agree to:

• Air down yourself at the beach ramp to about 18–20 PSI using the gauge we supply, and re-inflate to 38 PSI with the included compressor before driving on pavement. Beach4x4 does not send vehicles out aired down.
• Never drive in the ocean, the salt wash, or standing water. Stay off dunes and vegetation, follow established tracks, and park above the high-tide line.
• Obey posted beach speed limits — always 15 mph within 300 feet of people, pets, or wildlife, and 15 mph everywhere in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head.
• If you get stuck: stop, do not spin the tires, shovel out, air down a little more, and back out gently. Recovery gear is in the vehicle; any tow or recovery service you call is at your expense.
• Do not leave the vehicle unattended on the beach below the high-tide line.

8. Not allowed. No driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. No racing, towing, or carrying more passengers than seat belts. No smoking or vaping in the vehicle. No drivers who are not listed. No driving off marked beach access ramps, designated ORV routes, or public roads. Breaking these rules ends your rental immediately with no refund, and you are responsible for everything that follows.

9. Breakdowns, accidents and damage. Tell us right away about any warning light, mechanical problem, damage, or accident — text or call (252) 564-4218. For any accident involving another vehicle, property, or an injury, call 911 and get a police report and the other party’s information. Do not arrange repairs yourself. Beach4x4 is not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle.

10. Dogs. Dogs ride free. Please keep them well behaved, use a harness or crate when the top is down, and brush out the hair before you return — see the cleaning fee above.

11. Agreement. This agreement is governed by North Carolina law. By checking the box and signing below, you confirm you have read and agree to all of the above, that the information in this request is accurate, and that the card you provide may be charged for amounts owed under this agreement.
