Our 4WD rental pricing Outer Banks visitors love is simple and all-inclusive. Open all year, 7 days a week, 7am–8pm for reservation holders. Weekly rentals are our best value and our specialty. Every Beach4x4 rental includes Corolla & Cape Hatteras beach parking passes, an air compressor, a shovel, and a tow strap.

Rental Rates

About 1-Day Rentals

One-day rentals are $325, picked up as early as 7am, due back by 8pm the same day. One-day rentals are not available through the online booking system — submit a one-day rental request up to 2 days in advance. Send proof of your full-coverage auto policy to bret@beach4x4.com and we’ll send an invoice.

If we’re fully booked or your date is more than 2 days out, check with Outer Banks Jeep Rentals or Island Jeep & Car Rental, who book further in advance.

Why Weekly Rentals Are Our Specialty

At $1,338/week, our weekly rate works out to just $191/day — significantly less than per-day pricing. Most OBX visitors stay for a full week, and a weekly rental gives you the freedom to:

• Catch sunrise and sunset on different beaches.
• Take multiple trips up to Carova to see the wild horses.
• Drive south to Cape Hatteras for surf fishing at Cape Point.
• Take the ferry to Ocracoke Island.
• Avoid the stress of trying to fit everything into a single day.

Insurance Requirements

All renters must provide proof of full-coverage personal auto insurance that extends to rental vehicles. We verify coverage before pickup.

Cancellation Policy

• 7+ days before pickup: Full refund.
• Within 7 days of pickup: $225 cancellation fee.
• Dangerous weather (severe storms, hurricanes, etc.): Full refund on multi-day rentals — contact us as soon as possible.
• One-day rentals: Non-refundable, rain or shine, no exceptions.

Frequently Asked Pricing Questions

Are taxes and fees extra?

The advertised prices are the rental rate. Standard NC sales tax applies at checkout.

Is a security deposit required?

A $300 refundable security deposit applies to all multi-day rentals (credit or debit) and is released 3–7 business days after vehicle return. One-day rentals have a $200 refundable security deposit.

Do you offer multi-week or seasonal rates?

Are gift certificates available?

Yes — Beach4x4 gift certificates make a great gift for the OBX-loving family member or friend. Contact us for details.

Are the 4x4 SUVs More Expensive?

No. Our Infiniti QX80 and Nissan Armada (both 3-row seating) rent at the same flat weekly rate as our Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators. There is no upcharge for the QX80 or the larger Armada. Larger families get one vehicle for the same price as a Jeep. Both Currituck and Cape Hatteras beach permits are included. See full details on our 4x4 SUV rental page.
